
Visitation will be held on February 7, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Memory Chapel Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with burial at Liberty Baptist Church in Duncanville
He is survived by his daughter, Simona Hobson; sons, Jason, Andrew, and Justin Strickland; sister, Paula Driggers; and grandchildren, Bailey Bunn, Damon Sparks, Venna Strickland, Peyton Sparks, Gabriel Strickland, Addy Sparks, Kaylyn Strickland, and Anthony Strickland.
He was preceded in death by his parents Marie and Dwight Strickland and his wife Tracy Strickland.
Richard O’Neal Strickland was born to Marie and Dwight Strickland on November 28, 1953. He lived in Tuscaloosa much of his life. Graduated from Holt High School. He served as a Marine and then later joined the Army for a total of 18 years before retiring. Richard spent the remainder of his life doing the things he loved such as fishing, hunting, camping, and cooking. His family was the center point of his heart which helped to keep his life full and rich. He was a provider and would give everything he had to make sure that he took care of his loved ones and friends. He was a loving father, grandfather, and friend. His memory and teaching will be carried on in the hearts of those he touched throughout his fruitful life.
