NORTHPORT - Rita Hamby Watts, age 69, of Northport, Ala., passed away November 17, 2017 at home surrounded by her family. Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 21, 2017, at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Scott Herndon and Rev. Jesse Foster officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Buddy and Sara Hamby; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lasco Herndon and Mr. and Mrs. C.P. Hamby.
She is survived by her daughters, Lori Watts and Lara Burnett (Shannon); brother, Charlie Hamby (Darnell); grandchildren, Satchell Watts-Kerr, Malane Guy, Taylor Guy and Tristen Burnett; niece, Hilary Arnaud (Jared); great-niece, Avery Arnaud.
Rita’s life revolved around her wonderful grandchildren. She was their “Daisy”, as they called her.
Pallbearers will be Chris Strickland, Blanton Strickland, Brent Strickland, Burton Fisher, James Carter and Jason Potvin.
Honorary pallbearers are Trey Foster, Jerald Foster, The Williamson family and Comfort Care Hospice.
