Mr. Barnett was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; son, Scotty Barnett; parents, Lawrence and Lois Barnett; and sister, Camilla Barnett.
He is survived by his grandchildren, Cheyenne Barnett, Hudson Barnett, and Cooper Norris; step-daughter, Reneé Butler Norris (Karey); loving family members, Brenda and Michael Boaz, Wanda Logan, Courtney Hooper (John), David McJenkin, Hank Logan (Sarah), and Haley Watts (Daniel); special nieces and nephews, Maggie Grace, Logan, John Logan, Autumn, Easton, Bryce, and Andrew; and special friends, Ron Henry and Ed Wilman.
Larry was born in Topeka, Kansas and moved to Tuscaloosa as a child where he lived the remainder of his life. Upon graduating from Tuscaloosa High School, Larry enlisted in the Navy where he served four years in Scotland. Upon returning he graduated from The University of Alabama with a degree in Geology. He spent 30 years with the Geological Survey of Alabama. Larry was an avid golfer and an avid Alabama Football fan.
