I'm lucky to have Grandpa Bob and Grandma Edie as grandparents.  I will miss Grandpa's warm smile and welcoming nature.  My favorite memories of summer always included the few days that Grandpa and Grandma would drive up to Wyoming to visit.  I always looked forward to watching the old home movies on the reel-to-reel projector.  It was always a little surreal to see Uncle Dave, Aunt Candy, and Dad as little kids!  My favorite part, though, was when we'd inevitably drag Grandpa outside to play.  When I was little, Grandpa, Dad, and I would play baseball in the grass field behind the nearby wildlife museum.  I'm still trying to figure out we never broke any museum windows!  And in more recent years, Grandpa was always a good sport when we dragged him to the golf course.  Grandpa's friendly stories, quick wit, and tasty desserts will be greatly missed.  I am grateful for the time we spent together.  I love you, and I've always been proud to call you "Grandpa."

Grandpa, I have so many wonderful memories of our times together that still make me smile and laugh out loud today. From all the times at Hay Lake fishing, working together in Hamel on our new house, countless trips to St Charles to be with you and Grandma on the holidays, but probably one of my all time favorite memories was the time we came down to Alabama unannounced and surprised you and Grandma for Christmas.  It was a long time ago but I still remember that look on your face of happiness and joy when you opened your front door and saw us all standing there. I think of you often and miss your laughter and "one liners."  You were one of a kind and always made me proud to call you my Grandpa Bob. Thanks for the memories Grandpa!

Grandpa Elliott was the only grandpa I had in my life since 5th grade.  He and Grandma treated my brother Brett and I no different than their "blood" grandchildren.  Grandpa always made me laugh when he would take the credit for Grandma's cooking.  He truly was a shining example of the greatest generation ever!  He never lost his sense of humor even after surviving all that he did.  I loved him so much and I miss dearly!

I can remember Uncle Bob riding the little three wheeled tricycle on the back patio of their crane rd house. We always had such a wonderful time at those bbq's at Bob and Edie's house. He will be missed by the Durant's!!!

Grandpa ALWAYS had some orange candy slices at the house to eat before and after dinner!!! He had a way of swimming that no one could do...but him.  He was someone I looked up to and respected a great deal..I will miss you Grandpa!

Bob, I want to tell you how much I appreciate your love, support and humor over the years. It was an honor just to have met you, but any even greater pleasure to be part of your family. I admire you and consider you a role model in my life. You are a hero, a gentleman, and a man of God. The world needs more men like you in it. You will be missed, but not forgotten. We will love you always.

Papa, You knew how to make someone feel special with laughter, love and tears. You were there for me in every part of my life. I will always remember your kind heart and sense of humor.  Your smile was magnetic and your warm welcomes could make anyone feel loved. I will never forget your voice and how you always called me April Jean. I hope that I can honor your memory by being the kind of person you were and loving my children the way you loved me. Even though my heart is broken and that void will never be filled, I know that you are smiling down on me from Heaven. I love you and I will miss you forever.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Elliott family.  We remember Bob as a gentle, always smiling man.  May he rest in peace.

I know Bob is in a good place because he was a very good man. My concern is for his wife my Sister and her family who will miss him so much.

Dear Edith, 
Your husband Bob was one of the nicest men I've ever met.  When I bought my first Alabama home he showed me about and made me feel welcomed to our small community.  You and he were wonderful neighbors and friends.  Bob and Edie were the stars of our association.  I'm sorry I can't be with you at Bob's funeral, but I fell last week and my 92 year old body is still recovering.  My prayers and fond wishes to you Edith.  Love, Betty Lyons Simonetti
