DUCANVILLE -- Robert P. Hardeman, age 82, of Duncanville, Ala., passed away December 8, 2018, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 11, 2018, at Duncanville Baptist Church with Bro. Ray Hallman and Bro. John Creitz officiating. Burial will follow in Duncanville United Methodist Church Cemetery with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert S. and Mary P. Hardeman; and his first wife Erin B. Hardeman.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Betty Quinn Hardeman; children Robert P. Hardeman, Jr., Jane Claire Hardeman Dickey, Scott L. Quinn (Kathy), Emily Hardeman Green (Jamey); and eight grandchildren.
Robert P. Hardeman was born March 2, 1936 in Decatur, Ala. where he was employed by Decatur Electric until 1971. He then resided in Duncanville, Ala. and retired from Alabama Power Company. He was a graduate of Tuscaloosa High School and Athens State University in Athens, Ala. He was a longtime member of Duncanville Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher.
Pallbearers will be Robert P. Hardeman, Jr., Scott Quinn, Jamey Green, Drew Dickey, Cody Quinn, and Sean Heaton.
Honorary pallbearers are past and present deacons of Duncanville Baptist Church, the men's Sunday School class, Bo Dickey, Jackson Green, and Carter Green.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Duncanville Baptist Church building fund, or charity of your choice.
