Roger and Belinda (BB) were high school sweethearts and were together over 50 years! Their relationship flourished through the years as they enjoyed fulfilling careers and fun times and trips with friends. He had an enormous love for their daughter, Ashley.
He grew up loving Circlewood Baptist Church. He cherished special friendships and memories made through his many years of participation in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts, often talking about his Den Master, Shot Sherrill, and adventurous scouting experiences with friends. Countless people knew him as their “meat man” over the years. He developed many friendships with co-workers and customers over the course of his career.
Growing up, he spent many hours in Moundville on the Black Warrior River, where he learned to water ski and later purchased property on the same sandbar, he spent time on as a child. He took great pride in his vegetable garden and enjoyed sharing his harvest with friends and neighbors at the river.
Roger will be remembered for the love he had for his family, especially his grandsons, Chris and Braxton. Everyone knew they held the biggest piece of his heart! He loved holidays, family trips, and train rides with his grandsons! He also had a special relationship with his father-in-law, Ralph Delk, and enjoyed hunting and fishing with him.
Honorary pallbearers are Employees of Kroger, Winn Dixie, and Spiller Furniture, Richard Yawn, Wade McCraw, and Jamie Owens.
