KNOXVILLE – Ronald Scott Thorpe, 75, of Knoxville, Alabama, passed peacefully in his home surrounded by love on December 17, 2022. A Celebration of Ron’s Life will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, December 29, 2022 at Memory Chapel Funeral Home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Betty Thorpe.
Ron is survived by his wife of 31 years, Robyn Thorpe; daughters, Carrie Dailey and Lisa Clausen (Chris); and grandchildren, Clint Dailey, Dylan Clausen, Cade Dailey, Ariana Clausen.
He will forever be in our hearts for the deep love he had for his family and friends. For his love of life and living every day with a sense of humor, a warm heart, and a never-ending optimism for the future. He was a loving husband, Father and Grandfather, a devoted friend and kind to everyone he met. He loved talking with people and making people laugh; he loved laughter and made sure he found it every day no matter what.
Ron came back to his passion for golf in the early 90’s, which paved the way for years of work in an industry he loved, and, in a sport, he played as often as possible. After his retirement he enjoyed being outside, working on projects around the house and sitting on the deck watching the sights and sounds of nature. He loved hanging out at the pool, soaking up the sun, listening to his favorite country music, a perfect day.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Ron’s memory to Hospice of West Alabama.
