

Ronald Ray Tubbs, Sr. age 77, of Tuscaloosa, passed away on September 29, 2026 at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa, AL. He was born in Overton, AL on June 1, 1949, to the late Holland T. Tubbs and late Mabel Hamilton Tubbs.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Belinda Blanchard Tubbs; sons, Ron Tubbs (Lindsay) of Canton, GA, James Brandon Tubbs of Vancleave, MS and Joseph Tubbs (Sara) of Huntsville, AL; grandchildren, James Tubbs, Andrew Tubbs, Jackson Tubbs, Avery Tubbs and Emily Tubbs; brother, Jerry Tubbs of Cedar Bluff, AL; sisters, Kaye Brasher of Mount Olive, AL and Linda Fulmer of Verbena, AL.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Holland and Mabel Tubbs; sisters, Holline Allen, Sara Martin and Winda Burton; brothers, Terry Tubbs, Gene Tubbs and Phillip Tubbs.
He served in the US Marine Corp beginning November 18, 1968 served in the Vietnam War beginning honorable discharged with the rank of Corporal. He retired after 35 years in production control at Huntington Ingalls Shipbuilding in Pascagoula, MS. He started his career there as a carpenter. He loved watching Alabama sports especially football, basketball and softball. He loved working in his yard and growing his garden; he tinkered with building birdhouses, shelves, plaques and various other wood items for his family and friends; he was an avid reader. While his children were growing up, he coached T-Ball, baseball, flag football, tackle football and basketball. He loved watching his grandchildren play in various sports. He loved it when the grandkids came to visit especially without Mom and Dad. He loved the outdoors, nature and his numerous animals he had over the years; his current god Tilly is already missing his presence.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2026 at 11:00 am at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with eulogy from Dan Blanchard and Bible readings from James Tubbs. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial in the Alabama National Cemetery on Tuesday, October 6, 2026 at 11:00 am.
