Ronald Lee Wiggins, age 73, of Northport, Ala., died May 7, 2017, at DCH Regional Medical Center. A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, May 13, 2017, at Memory Hill Gardens with Reverend Jimmy Garner officiating and Memory Chapel Funeral Home & Cremations, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing.He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Eugene Wiggins and mother, Helen Virginia Wiggins.Survivors include his life partner, Barbara Hinkson of Northport, Ala.; son, John Arthur Wiggins of Phoenix, Ariz.; and sister, Linda Kay (Wiggins) Nelson of Clearwater, Fla.Ron was born on February 8, 1944 in New Martinsville, West Virginia to R. Eugene Wiggins and Helen Ickes Wiggins. He graduated from River High School in 1962. After moving to Tuscaloosa, Ron began working for American Longwall/Joy Global and retired in 2007.In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer's Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family.
