After a blessed life filled with family, many wonderful friends, and the gift of great joy in her life, and after overcoming many struggles, Rosalyn Pullen Griffin passed away after a very sudden and brief illness. She was a breast cancer survivor of many years.
Rosalyn was an admissions counselor at the University of Alabama for many years. She enjoyed her retirement with many beloved friends while devoting herself to caring for her husband, James. She enjoyed her grandchildren and thought they were all just perfect. She took up painting later in life and enjoyed volunteering for the Cancer Center and the Salvation Army Guild.
She was a woman of all trades who could knit, crochet, outfit Princess Mary in beautiful clothes, provide Rosaleigh and Allison with all the latest gadgets, and decorate and redecorate her home and the homes of her friends. She loved Tuscaloosa, and much of Tuscaloosa loved her. She was truly a force of nature who will leave a big absence behind.
Pallbearers will be Jason and Scott Griffin, Rhett and Kelly Butler, and Curt Darnell.
Honorary pallbearers are all of her friends and neighbors who brought her so much joy in her life, including the Red Hat Sisters and her church, and Tuscaloosa High School Class of 1956.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Salvation Army, Cancer Center of Tuscaloosa, and Northridge Baptist Church in Northport.
