

Roy Stevenson Curry, 86, passed away on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at his residence in Duncanville. A Graveside Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, December 16, 2021 at 11:00AM from Memory Hill Gardens, Garden of Prayer, under the direction of Memory Chapel, a Dignity Memorial provider.
Mr. Curry was born in Duncanville, AL on February 26, 1935 to the late Sam and Josie Curry, he was the youngest of six children. He served his country, as a paratrooper, while enlisted in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked for Bell South as a Services Technician and was able to retire after 38 years of service. A Methodist by faith, he was a longtime member of Duncanville Methodist where he served as a Deacon. He also enjoyed playing golf. Though he led a full life, he was especially proud of his title of “Pop” given to him by his grandchildren! He was a loving and devoted family man and will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Margie Curry, sisters: Rachael Dawkins and Opal Moffitt; and brothers: Sam Curry, Oliver Curry and Dan Curry.
He is survived by two sons: Don (Brandee) Curry and Sammy (Tami) Curry; grandchildren: Reed Curry, Shelley Curry, Presley Curry and Tatum Curry; one great-granddaughter on the way, a God-daughter Cindy Snow, and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
Recognized as Honorary Pallbearers are: Charles Barton, Ralph and Terri Speigle, Dan and Belinda Medders, and Jeff and Stephanie Farmer.
