

Brother Russell Blank, age 63, of Moundville, formerly of La., died April 21, 2016, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, April 23, 2016, at Oak Hill Cemetery with Brother Steve Strickland officiating and Memory Chapel Funeral Home & Cremations, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be today, April 22, 2016, from 4 to 5 p.m., at the funeral home.Survivors include his wife, Thelmer Louise "Peanut" Blank of Moundville, Ala.; daughters, Brandi Kelly of Coaling, Ala., Mandi Harbin of Cottondale, Ala. and Sandi Cuenca of Miss.; sons, James A. Carpenter, Jr. of Northport and Charles Andrew Carpenter of Northport; sisters, Peggy Lawhon of La. and Lydia Hinyub; brother, Mike Martinez of Tenn.; eleven grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren.Brother Russell J. Blank was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to all. He strived to serve the Lord and to put him first in his life. He touched many lives with the love of God and pastoral ministries. He loved to fish, hunt and was a Cajun at heart. Now he is able to walk, run and rejoicing with the Lord. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Ballard, Ricky Kelly, James Carpenter, Bruce Cuenca, Daniel Box, Jimmy Hall and Charlie Carpenter.
