TUSCALOOSA - Ruth Elizabeth Harris Elmore, age 95, of Tuscaloosa, Ala., passed away on December 20, 2018. Born June 20, 1923 in Tuscaloosa, she was the daughter of the late John Harris and Jessie Simpson.
She is survived by her children, Dannie Elmore, David Elmore, Fay Newman (Oscar), Linda Shook (Chris); six grandchildren, Paige Elmore Porio, Heidi Lee Carter (Brad), Jennifer Elmore Hill (Sherman), Jesse David Newman, Meridith Shook Hoover (Drew) and Caroline Shook; and seven great-grandchildren, Jessica, Skylar, Coty, Lillian, William, Max and Leia.
Her daughter, Esther Lee (Richard) and son, Paul Elmore, preceded her in death.
She loved flowers, plants and reading the Bible. Her hope was in the Lord Jesus Christ.
A graveside service will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, December 22, 2018, at Memory Hill Gardens.
