TUSCALOOSA – Ruth B. Massey, age 94, passed away at Moundville Health and Rehabilitation on October 3, 2021. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, October 7, 2021 at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Ken Meyers officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
Ms. Massey was preceded in death by her parents, Gracie and Vincent Lyon; and her husband, Elmer Massey.
She is survived by her daughter, Jackie Owens; son, Roger D. Massey (Margaret); grandchildren, Steven Massey (Melissa), Cindy Yerby (Mitch), Chad Wigley, and Brad Wigley (Brandy); and great-grandchildren, Kayla Yerby, Austin Yerby, Taylor Wigley, Michael Massey, and Kelsey Massey.
Honorary pallbearers are Encompass Health, Moundville Health and Rehabilitation, and Little Sandy Baptist Church.
