

Sam Booker Tingle, Jr. went home with the Lord and was reunited with his loving wife Linda on April 24th, 2025. Sam was born October 25th, 1944 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama to the late Sam B. Tingle, Sr. and Ila V. Cook Tingle.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years Linda Gail Channell Tingle, his father and mother Sam B. Tingle, Sr and Ila V. Cooke Tingle and his father-in-law and mother in-law, Rev L.S. and Brookey Channell.
He is survived by his son Sam B. Tingle III (girlfriend Cindy Kuhn); daughter Darlene Burkhalter (David), sister Linda Hayes, brother-in-law Lester Channell; sisters-in-law Barbara Smith, Sharon Vice and a host of family and friends.
Sam was a hardworking and devoted husband and Daddy. He was married to his loving wife Linda for 59 years until her passing in 2023. Sam served in the Army during the late 1960’s while serving overseas in Korea as part of the military police. He enjoyed hunting, raising cows, gardening and riding his tractor over the pasture. He spent many hours enjoying the outdoors and tinkering on projects with his son. He enjoyed traveling to the beach with his wife Linda. He enjoyed sharing occasions with family and friends. Sam enjoyed being a mechanic for over 20 years. Sam was a Christian and supported his church to reach others for Christ. He retired from the Tuscaloosa Chevrolet Motor Company.
Services will be held Monday, April 28th at 2:00 PM at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Ronny Channell and Bud Sullivan officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Graveside will follow in Memory Hills Garden.
Pallbearers will be Sam Tingle, David Burkhalter, David Sanders, James Burkhalter, Ronny Channell, Ron Channell, Jr., and Joe Mills.
