

Mrs. Stipe is survived by her husband of 67 years, Roy Franklin Stipe; their son, Thomas Hall Stipe; daughter-in-law, Sharon Harvey Stipe; granddaughter, Sarah Eleanor Stipe; and sister, Johnnie Hall Killingsworth. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father, Dr. George W. Hall, and mother, Annie Faust Hall of Tuscaloosa County.
Mrs. Stipe was a member of the Lee Sunday School Class at First United Methodist Church and was proud to be a native of Tuscaloosa County. Her father, Dr. Hall, was widely known as Northport's first physician, and Mrs. Stipe often recalled accompanying him as a child on house calls. Mrs. Stipe attended Tuscaloosa High School and was a member of the marching band under the legendary direction of Col. Carlton Butler. She earned both an undergraduate and master's degree from the University of Alabama and was a lifelong fan of the Crimson Tide.
Mrs. Stipe was also active in numerous civic organizations, including Friends of Historic Northport, the ASTRA Study Club, the United Daughters of the Confederacy, and the Daughters of the American Revolution. Most importantly, she was a loving and dedicated wife of 67 years, mother, “Grammy,” and sister.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Dr. Ken Dunivant officiating and Heritage Chapel Funeral Home & Cremations, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be Sunday from 1 to 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Dr. Noel W. Bedwell, Thomas Roberts, Brock Jones, Dr. Daniel Killingsworth, Kenneth L. Stipe, James K. Robertson, Dr. William R. Harvey III, James Stephan Harvey, and John Robert Harvey.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Mrs. Stipe's honor to The First United Methodist Church of Tuscaloosa, 800 Greensboro, Ave., Tuscaloosa, AL 35401; or The Alabama Choir School, 605 Lurleen Wallace Blvd., Tuscaloosa, AL 35401.
