TUSCALOOSA - Sherry Anne Dockery Bonner, age 61, of Tuscaloosa, Ala., passed away January 10, 2019 at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, January 13, 2019, at Memory Chapel with Rev. Vial Fontenot officiating and Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Private burial will be in Bethel Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Visitation will follow service at the funeral home until 5 p.m.
She was the daughter of Edward Burrell Dockery, Sr. and Grace Hughes Dockery (Case).
Sherry was preceded in death by her best friend her mother, Grace; her beloved dad, Ed; her nephew, Trey Dockery; brother-in-law, Leigh Gray; and father-in-law, Bill Bonner.
She is survived by her husband, Curtis Bonner; stepson, Trevor Bonner; mother-in-law, Dot Bonner; brothers, Rusty (Vickie) and Tommy (Connie) Dockery, all of Tuscaloosa; and sister, Donna Dockery Gray of Birmingham. Also, surviving are four nieces, two nephews, ten great-nieces, three great-nephews, a host of cousins and friends; and her six cherished dogs.
Sherry graduated from Central High School with the Class of 1975, attended Livingston University, and worked as an administrative assistant for Bo Fields Insurance, as a medical insurance clerk for Dr. Mark Ricketts, as a secretary for Crimson Carpet and Flooring, and as an independent consultant for several companies including Rodan and Fields skincare, LuluRoe clothing and Vantel Pearls.
Sherry was loved for her friendly nature, outgoing personality, sassy style and her love of jewelry, painted nails, and different hairstyles.
