Shirley F. Garner

Shirley F. Garner, age 74, of Tuscaloosa, died Dec. 14, 2010, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Garner officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Garner; her parents, Denny and Lizzie Davidson; her brothers, Buster, Jimmy, Bobby, and Denny Jr. Davidson; and her sisters, Edna and Ida Davidson.

Survivors include her sons, Tony (Robin) and Phillip (Shivawn) Garner; her grandchildren, Tina Hardy (DaWayne), Dusty Garner (Sheila), Tracy Wiggins (Ross), Jacob and Benjamin Garner, and Tyler and Adam Pest ; and her great-grandchildren, Kayla Hardy, Mariah Wiggins, and DJ Garner.

Shirley was born in Hazard, Ky., but was a true Alabamian. She loved Alabama football. Shirley was a loved mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be missed more than she would ever know. She was a sweet woman with a spitfire attitude. She was taken away by her angel and is now in a better place. We love you, momma.

Pallbearers will be Dusty Garner, Jeff Sparks, Ross Wiggins, Woodie Wiggins, DaWayne Hardy, and Horace H. Hardy, Jr.

Honorary pallbearers are 6th Floor nurses at DCH, DCH Home Health, Emma, Kathy, Hazel, Sadie, and Barbara.
