Shirley is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Pierson; mother, Mary McMillan; niece, Ashley Cox; brother, Perry McMillan; son, George Bishop III.
She is survived by her son, Rock Pierson; sister, Mary Ann Preutice; brothers, John McMillan, Sheerwood McMillan and William McMillan; grandchildren, Colton Corder and Conner Averette.
Mama Shirley grew up in Bibb County. She moved to Tuscaloosa where she met the love of her life, Tom Tom and was married for 32 years. She retired from Phifer Wire in 2016 after 27 years. She was a caregiver for Tom Tom for 1 year. Her retirement was spent traveling, spending time with friends and family, and she loved to talk on her phone and watch Tik Tok and Facebook lives.
