Steve O. Tashe

Steve Otis Tashe, age 75, passed away September 17, 2026 at his home. Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 22, 2026 at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Rev. Gene Dockery officiating. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Heritage Chapel Funeral Home prior to services.

Steve was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Patty Tashe; son, Gregory Steven Tashe; parents, Steve and Ruth Tashe; and sister, Connie Sopsher.

He is survived by his grandchildren, Cody Hallman (Victoria) of Vance, Ala., Taylor Tashe Nerren (Zack) of Huntington, Tex., Alexander Tashe (Azyah) of Roanoke, Va., and Chase Cook of Moundville, Ala.; great-grandchildren, Brynlee and Bentley Craton Hallman, Hadley Grace Nerren, and Azariah Tashe.

Steve worked 35 years as United Coal Miner. Steve loved his family and friends, and most of all his dog Nikki Saban. He also loved traveling with his niece, Terri Smith. Steve will be missed by so many.

Pallbearers will be Cody Hallman, Alex Tashe, Chase Cook, Mark Solonka, Zack Nerren, and Trey Cook.

Honorary pallbearers are Brandon Solonka, Sandy Solonka, Preston and Terry Sullivan, and Wayne Smith.
