Sue Sutton Miller

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Memory Chapel Funeral Home on Skyland Boulevard, with Rev. Gary Youngblood officiating. Entombment will immediately follow at the Chapel of Memories Mausoleum. Heritage Chapel Funeral Home & Cremations, a Dignity Memorial Provider, is directing.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Arvilee Sutton; her loving husband of 34 years, Bobby Miller; her sons, Michael Terry Canty Jr. and Michael (Mike) Miller; her son-in-law, Ricky (Rick) Latham; her special son, Joe "Fireman" McCollum; her grandchildren, Hunter Canty, Meg Lightsey, and Shelby Lynn Strickland; her niece, Amy Sutton; and six great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughters, Michelle Latham, Tracy Fulks (Jeff), and Rhonda Strickland (Ross); her grandchildren, Christine Wicker (Seth), Carl Clary (Amber), Carmen Clary, Tripp Canty, Ashlyn Jackson (Corey), Paige Justiss (John), Justin Fulks (Alee), Christian Knestrick (Andrew), Cody Strickland (Whitney), Caitlynn Ray (Connor), and Marti Sellers (Casey); her brothers, David Sutton (Lisa) and Eddie Sutton; her niece, Morgan Sutton; her nephew, Chase Sutton (Danielle); her special daughter, Charlene Davidson (Mike); her great-grandchildren, Cooper Wicker, Beau Wicker, Abbie Jo Clary, soon-to-arrive Eloise Sutton Clary, Jett Justiss, Lily Canty, Hunter Jackson, Harper Jackson, soon-to-arrive Hardy Cole Jackson, Reagan Lightsey, Jordan Fulks, Brady Fulks, Mary Rich Knestrick, Mason Knestrick, Hadley Knestrick, Houston Strickland, Madi Chris Strickland, Gunner Gilmore, and Harlan Gilmore; her special friends, Tina Smelley and Frankie Krebs; along with numerous other relatives and friends.

Sue was born on November 11, 1942, to Ralph and Arvilee Sutton. She was the daughter of a painter and a nurse. When she was the age of 10, her mother gave birth to her oldest brother, and a few years later to her youngest brother. Helping her parents care for her siblings taught Sue the dedication, commitment, and unconditional love required to raise a family. Those lessons shaped the way she lived the rest of her life.

She was a proud member of the Tuscaloosa High School Black Bears Class of 1961, Beta Sigma Phi, and the Elks Club. She began her professional career as a secretary for Jimmy Cain at Tusco Fab. Later, she became a successful business owner, operating several businesses throughout Tuscaloosa County, including her beloved beauty salon, Changing Seasons, for 37 years, Bobby Sue's Car Wash, and River Hill Apartments.

Because of her love for Christmas and her desire to make it special for her family and others, she and her husband dedicated many years to the Toys for Tots program. They were also well known throughout the community for their annual Christmas Yard Wonderland.

Sue's greatest joy was caring for the large family she built throughout her life. To her, it never mattered whether someone was related by blood. If you held a special place in her heart, you were family. She devoted countless years to caring for her husband, children, grandchildren, extended family, and friends, always striving to give them the very best life she could.

For many years, she was an active member of the Valley View Baptist Church community, where her faith and love for God continued to grow. Throughout her life, she enjoyed spending Thanksgiving week in the country, where she helped create a special place for family gatherings and four-wheeler rides. She also loved traveling the world, spending time with family, NASCAR racing, camping, Alabama football, and occasional trips to the casino.

Pallbearers will be Carl Clary, Seth Wicker, Tripp Canty, Corey Jackson, Justin Fulks, and Cody Strickland.

Honorary pallbearers are Peggy Sue Hoagland; Tommy and Jackie Miklic; Mr. and Mrs. Hardy McCollum; Ron Abernathy; Patrick Hamner of Bryant Bank; Ben Welch of SmartBank; Chris and Emily Bowles; Janet Canty; Sam Hartley; Nicole Loggins; Jennifer Hosmer; Amy and Jeremy Elliott; Lan Chung and the staff at Malibu; Mandi Sandy of Image Makers; her longtime staff at Changing Seasons, Shirley Morrison and Melesa Bell; Dr. John Miller and the staff of Tuscaloosa Internal Medicine; Dr. Mohammad Azam and the staff of Tuscaloosa Lung & Sleep; Dr. Shelby Sanford; Dr. Ashvani Sengar and the staff of the Cancer Care Center; and the compassionate staff of Hospice of West Alabama.
