Suzy Cagle Wheat Davis

Suzy Cagle Wheat Davis passed away surrounded by her family on February 2, 2016 at DCH Regional Medical Center. Please join us at Memory Chapel Funeral Home in Tuscaloosa as we celebrate her life on Saturday, February 6, 2016. Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m., followed immediately by a brief service at 6:00pm.

Suzy was preceded in death by her father, C.E. Cagle and her mother, Estelle Roper.

She is survived by her husband, Forrest Dale Davis; her children, Bethany Wheat Clemmons (John), Jacob Cory Wheat (Nikki), Andrew Caleb Wheat (Candice) and William Nicholas “Nick” Webb; sisters, Paula Pate Russell (David), Ellen Berry Pratt (Eddie) and Luci Cagle; brothers, Neal Cagle (Allyson) and Scott Roper; and her granddaughter, Layla Suzanne Clemmons.

To all of us who knew Suzy, we would say one of her greatest attributes would be her unselfishness. She was always reading, researching and reaching out to find ways in which she could serve or help others.

Suzy used any and all opportunities to show love. Over the last few days, we have seen just how many people Suzy connected with. She made friends in all avenues of her life including family, work, faith and animal outreach. If you were fortunate enough to have met Suzy even just once, you had a friend for life. “Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in Heaven.” - Matthew 5:16. She left an incredible legacy of kindness, compassion, generosity, and love. Suzy’s light will always shine. She will always be our sunshine!

We count it as a blessing to have known such an extraordinary woman and to be able to call her our friend, sister, aunt, mother and wife.

Honorary pallbearers include: the DCH ACCU staff, her animal rescue friends, the staff of The Radiology Clinic and her friends and furbabies that are too numerous to list.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to Jacy Elmore for going above and beyond in taking care of our family and our needs during this difficult time.
