Terry Dwayne Lewis, 55, also known by his nickname “gord head”, passed peacefully with multiple family members by his side at DCH on June 20, 2021. A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00 p.m. at Memory Chapel Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
He was born on June 26, 1965 in Huntsville Alabama to his late parents, Andrew and Jody Lewis. He is survived by his daughter Jennifer Lewis, Sister Tina Lewis, Brother Andy Lewis, nieces, Milisa McCarley and Miranda Traweek; nephew, Caleb McCarley (Jessica); and great-nieces and great-nephews, Tristan, Cayleigh, Tyler, Sam and Lillie.
Growing up as a child, Terry always seemed to get into some type of trouble. One example of this would be him and Keith setting his grandparent’s barn on fire. There are so many funny and sweet memories of Terry that many people could attest to. One thing he loved the most as a child was visiting his grandparent’s house during the summer and spending time with his cousins.
Following in his father‘s footsteps, Terry enjoyed working as an auto body mechanic for many years. Some of his passions included: fishing, hunting, watching NASCAR, Alabama football, and of course making memories with his family at the casinos.
As most of you know, Terry had a hard head like a goat but was a loving father, son, sibling, and uncle. Even through tough times he seemed to always have the ability to lighten a situation through his humor.
Terry will always be remembered and greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
