Thomas Borden Allen Jr.

Thomas Borden “Buddy” Allen Jr, age 75, of Tuscaloosa, passed away on June 28th, 2026, while at home. Services will be held on Thursday, July 2nd, 2026, at 10:30 am at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with visitation at 9:30 am. He will be laid to rest at Memory Hill Gardens. Officiating the services will be David Bonnor, with Memory Chapel Funeral Home directing.

Thomas was affectionately known by everyone who knew him as “Buddy”. Buddy was born on July 3rd, 1950, to Thomas and Ruth Allen. Until his recent health issues, he lived an active lifestyle with work and exercise. He would be quick to tell you about how many push-ups and ab-scissors he did on a daily basis. He spent many years working as a Valet attendant at the Birmingham Race Course, where he enjoyed interacting with the many patrons that ultimately became his friends. When he was younger, he had a passion for training and raising Greyhounds. He loved all of his dogs, but the ones we remember most are T-Bone and Chicken Noodle. Buddy was a loving Dad, Brother, Grandad, Uncle, Father-in-law, and friend that lived a very simple life. He will be deeply missed by everyone that loved him and knew him.

Buddy is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Ruth Allen, and nieces Cynthia Allen & Renee McMurry.

He is survived by his children Christy (Justin) Williams, Thomas Allen III, Crystal (Curtis) Frederick, Steven (Alison) Davis; siblings Mike (Christy) Allen, Debbie (Earnie) Parker, Larry (Christina) Allen; grandchildren Brittany Allen, Tori Allen, Elizabeth Frederick, Andrew Pruitt, Randall Frederick; nieces & nephews Tonya (William) Lambert, Jason (Tehela) Allen, Gary (Cassie) Parker, Jeremy Parker, Eric (Heidi) Hughes, Ashley Allen, Hannah Ruth Allen, Matthew Allen and several great nieces & nephews.

Pallbearers will be Thomas Allen, Steven Davis, Jason Allen, William Lambert, Curtis Frederick, and Eric Hughes

Honorary Pallbearers include employees and friends from Birmingham Race Course, employees of Manna Grocery, and employees of Southern Gold Coin & Jewelry.
