TUSCALOOSA – William David Billings, Sr., age 68, of Tuscaloosa, died May 9, 2016, at Hospice of West Alabama. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, May 12, 2016, at Memory Hill Gardens with Brother Curtis Kelley officiating and Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be today, May 11, 2016, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.He was preceded in death by his parents, Philmon Eugene Billings and Mamie Smith Billings.Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Patricia B. Billings of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; daughter, Ashley B. Harbison (Jerimie) of Northport, Ala.; son, William David Billings, Jr. of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; sister, Diane Graveman (Bob) of Cullman, Ala.; brothers, Bobby Billings of Gardendale, Ala. and Phil Billings (Sue) of Springfield, Ky.; and grandson, Tucker Harbison of Northport, Ala.Bill was born on October 31, 1947 to the late P. E. and Mamie Ruth Billings. He was a graduate of Tuscaloosa High School and Livingston University with a degree in Business Administration. He worked 34 years at BF Goodrich/Michelin Corp.Bill loved the outdoors, gardening, woodworking, fishing and spending time with family. He touched many lives with his kindness, gentle spirit and love for all. He was always there to lend a helping hand and listening ear. His greatest joy in life was his grandson, Tucker. He will greatly be missed by all.Pallbearers will be Eric Bryan, Lee Jones, Braxton McFerrin, Brylan McFerrin, Jim Bambarger, Brooks Baker, Mark McFerrin, Jabe Burnett and Todd Graveman.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions be made to Hospice of West Alabama, Lewis and Faye Manderson Cancer Center or the charity of your choice.
