William Doss

Rev. William O. Doss, age 95, passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2011, at the William Childs Hospice House in Palm Bay, Fla. He served in the U.S. Army in the European Theater during World War II. Rev. Doss was of the Baptist faith and was a pastor for churches in Virginia and North Carolina.

He is survived by his son, Bill Doss and wife, Brenda of Jasper, Ala.; two daughters, Mary Largin and husband, Curtis of Columbiana, Ala. and Marie Hickman and husband Howard of Melbourne Beach, Fla.; eight grandchildren, Harris Hickman, Dave Hickman, Lisa Bryan, Mike Largin, Derek Largin, Billy Doss, Garrett Doss, and Robin Doss; 17 adorable great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth C. Doss, in January 2008.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2011, at Heritage Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will follow with a committal service at 2 p.m. in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of Health First, 1900 Dairy Road, West Melbourne, FL 32904; or to a charity of one's choice.
