BROOKWOOD – William Jack Duvall, age 73, of Brookwood, Ala., died September 10, 2016. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, September 15, 2016, at Memory Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel Funeral Home & Cremations, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 14, 2016, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.He was preceded in death by his wife, Frieda Hawkins Duvall; granddaughter, Ashley Nychole Wade; sister, Betty Jo Calhoun; and parents, Alcie Frisby and William Perry Duvall. Survivors include his daughters, Michele Battles (Harold) and Beth Burleson (Brian) son, Brian Duvall; sister, Linda Hicks (Hubert); grandchildren, Holley Haynes (Michael), Vicki Wade (Jarrod Hunt), Damon Green (Carrie), William Duvall, Morgan Jordan and Justin, Autumn and Sean Burleson; and great-grandchildren, Haley, Ansleigh, Cloey, Ethan, River, Jaden, Jack, Farrah, Raven, Brystal, Laura Beth, Anna Kate and Natalee.He served six years in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam Era and was honorably discharged. Honorary pallbearers are the staff at the V. A. Hospital, Tuscaloosa County employees, miners at #5 Jim Walter Mine, Linda Herren, Johnny and Barbara Herren and Clayton Parton.
