

William Charles Moody, 88, passed peacefully into his heavenly home on Friday, July 25, 2025, surrounded by family at DCH Medical Intensive Care Unit in Tuscaloosa, AL. Funeral service will be Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at 2:00 pm at Memory Chapel Funeral Home in Tuscaloosa, AL, with Bro Shannon Moses officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at 1:00 pm in the chapel. A graveside service will follow in Memory Hill Gardens Cemetery.
Charles was born May 2, 1937, in Ethelsville, Alabama (Pickens County) to his parents, Coleman Jefferson Moody and Clera Victoria Logan Moody. He served in the Army National Guard from 1961-1965. He had a long career as a foreman at Reliance Steel and later in life was self-employed in the Timber Industry. He had a love for outdoors, especially fishing, camping, and hunting, and was a big Alabama fan. He and his wife Shirley enjoyed square dancing and round dancing as well as their world travels. Grandchildren’s sporting events, beauty walks, and dance recitals were rarely missed. Nothing pleased Charles more than being with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Junkins Moody, his infant son, William Darren Moody, his parents, Coleman Jefferson Moody and Clera Victoria Moody, his brother, Billy Wayne Moody, and a sister-in-laws Neila House Moody, Bonnie Junkins, and Sue Junkins.
Survivors include his daughter, Serena Hubbard (Tim), Mobile, Al, sons Derek Moody (Lisa), Demopolis, Al and Derrell Moody (BeLinda), Northport, Al, Grandsons Johnathon Hubbard, Mobile, Al, Clint Moody(Christy), Tuscaloosa, Al, Timothy Hubbard, Jacksonville, Fl, Tyler Moody (Amie), Demopolis, Al, Brock Moody ( Micaele ) Northprt, AL, Seth Aiken (Carter), Birmingham, Al, granddaughters Megan Moody (Matt), Fairhope, Al, Ashton Moody, Elk Grove, California, and Sutton Davis (Walker), Kingsport, Tennessee. and 10 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons Johnathon Hubbard, Clint Moody, Timothy Hubbard, Tyler Moody, Brock Moody, and Seth Aiken.
We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to his caregivers, Ruby Harris and Vicky Holmes, for their many years of dedicated care and compassion for our dad.
