William Stevenson, Jr.

NORTHPORT – William O. “Steve, Bill” Stevenson, Jr., age 86, of Northport, Ala. Died August 22, 2017, at home. Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m. Monday, August 28, 2017, in Memory Hill Gardens with Rev. Jim Robertson officiating and Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Margaret; brother, Rodney; son, William O. Stevenson III; and grandson, William O. “Billy” Stevenson IV.

He is survived by daughters Brenda & Carl Fletcher, Patricia & Randal Moses, and Sheila Evans; sons Dale E. Stevenson and Ricky & Tina Stevenson; sisters Norma Franklin and Brenda Stevenson; brothers Donald, Reggie, Sonny, Dennse, and Freddy Stevenson; grandchildren Lori Ryland, Carl & Ashley Fletcher, Steven & Saori Fletcher, Joshua Stevenson, Justin & Jess Stevenson, Aliya & Elliot Moon, Jacob Stevenson, Kalee Stevenson, and Storm & Shelby Channell; and eight great-grandchildren.

Junior retired from Jim Walters #7 after a long career in the mines. He was also a United States Air Force veteran. All friends were considered family. He loved everyone with all of his heart, not just part of it. Junior loved his family with a love that was never selfish and always dependable. His wife, Margaret, and five children were his whole life. Plus many others that called him “Grandpa” or “Pops.”

Pallbearers will be Joshua Stevenson, Jacob Stevenson, Billy Stevenson and Dale Stevenson.
