

Funeral services for William Belton Walker, age 76, of Moundville, will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 17, 2010, at Heritage Chapel Funeral Home in Tuscaloosa with Bro. Max Goodwin officiating. Burial will follow in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Heritage Chapel Funeral Home & Cremations, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Walker was preceded in death by his parents, Freddye Hicks Walker and Bertha Spencer Walker; and a son, William Fredrick Walker.
He is survived by his brother, Phineas Leon Walker of Northport; a sister, Doris Merrill of Valdosta, Georgia; his daughters, Marianne Walker of Tuscaloosa and Cynthia Walker Hollingsworth of Moundville; his grandchildren, William David Walker, Courtney Jane Walker, Christopher Hollingsworth, Rosa Marie Hollingsworth, Tyler Alexanderia Bailey, James Michael Hollingsworth, Brandin M. Walker, Tony Walker, Galen Martinez, and Gabriel Rangel; his great-grandchildren, William Ethan Davidson and Michael Aeden Davidson; the mother of his children, Mary Walker of Vance; his longtime companion, Suzie Snipes of Greensboro; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Mr. Walker was a graduate of Greene County High School and former resident of Eutaw. He retired from Gulf States Paper Corporation in Demopolis. He was avid fisherman. He enjoyed time spent with his grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be David Walker, Christopher Hollingsworth, Otis Stowe, Otis M. Stowe, Carlos Rodriguez, and Bill Smith.
Honorary pallbearers are Terry Marcum, Ronald Fagan, and Greg Davidson.
Although he is no longer with us, he will remain forever with us in our hearts and minds.
