Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, January 7, 2019, at Heritage Chapel with Rev. Sarah Smoot officiating. Burial will follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens on Tuesday, January 8, 2019, at 1 p.m. with Heritage Chapel Funeral Home & Cremations, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her four sisters, Sally, Lou, Alice and Ellen; and two brothers, Jim and J.C.; and by her son, James William Beall, Jr.
Survivors include her daughter, Sara Beall Knox (Allan) of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; son, John Alan Beall (Kathryn) of Colorado Springs, Colo.; grandchildren, John Andrew Knox and Elizabeth Katherine Knox (Bryan Walter); great-grandchildren, Amelia and Caden Knox, Elizabeth Jade and Julee Grace Walters, all of Tuscaloosa, Ala.
She was born March 20, 1927 at Barnett's Crossroads, Alabama. After graduation from Wallace High School, she worked at Pensacola Naval Air Station during World War II, where she met and married her husband, James W. Beall. Later, she lived in Tuscaloosa for over 40 years. She worked for many years in the accounts department at Partlow State Hospital until she retired.
Honorary pallbearers are Dr. John Summerford, Susan and Greg Hamrick and the staff at Hamrick Highlands Assisted Living, Members of Druid Hills United Methodist Church, Jim Jayne, nieces: Sara, Sue, Kitty and Kelly; Katherine Brown and other neighbors; and friends Altrice and Billie.
