The matriarch of our family, she passed down her great wisdom and example of unconditional love to five generations. We are so thankful for the strong foundation of faith, family and love that she built around us, her special sense of humor, and her amazing strength after having been widowed since 1994. Oh how we loved her stories of her growing up on the farm in Pickens Co. with three wonderful brothers. She was the baby and only girl (Spoiled, probably). She had a feisty spirit and great love for life and nature. She was very stoic and extremely independent, with beauty inside and out. Some of her favorite things to do included reading her Bible, doing crossword puzzles, adult coloring books, and watching America’s Funniest Videos and Dr. Pol on TV. She loved sitting outdoors observing the beauty of Gods creation, especially admiring the flowers and birds. Always a hard worker, her work history includes: Westinghouse as a plant worker, DCH Surgery as instrument sterilization technician, Partlow Hospital as patient care assistant and Bryce Hospital Police Dept. where she was radio dispatcher. She was also a proud graduate of the West Alabama Police Academy, having earned honors and awards in marksmanship. She will be missed tremendously but we are comforted knowing she is now eternally at peace, happy, healthy, and wrapped in the loving arms of her Lord and Savior in Heaven. She is now finally reunited with the love of her life and they are joyously “Dancing in the Wind!”
Mama, Mawmaw, Grangran, Ruth: We are secure and looking forward to being with you again one day. We love you to Heaven!
