

Wyoma Breon Jackson, age 83, of Tuscaloosa, died Saturday, April 17, 2010, at Hospice of West Alabama. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, April 22, 2010, at Calvary Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Memory Hills Cemetery with Dr. Tim Lovett officiating and Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Cora McClellan Breon of Newport News, Va.; father, Maurice Breon of Newport News, Va.; brothers, Perry Breon of Virgina Beach, Va. and Bob Breon of Atlanta, Ga.; and loving husband, James Y. Jackson of Tuscaloosa, Ala.
Survivors include her son, Keith Breon Jackson (Joyce) of Austin, Texas; daughters, Andrea Jackson Hammock (Jeff) of Prattville, Ala. and Kelli Leigh Jackson (Mindy) of N.C.; grandchildren, Sarah James (Will), James (Alicia), Mary Grace and Tony Hammack of Prattville, Ala., Daniel Jackson of Austin, Texas, Nikolas, Catherine and Logan Jackson-Govan of Cary, N.C.; and great-grandchild, Makayla James of Prattville, Ala.
Wyoma was firstly a wonderful Christian who really loved the Lord and was very active in Calvary Baptist Church. Her love for the international student population at the University of Alabama was expressed through 35 years of service as Director of the Friendship Program, teaching English as a second language. She was an active member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority, a philanthropic sorority, for 50 years. She received her 50 year service pin April 15, 2010. After moving from their long-time home in Skyland Park, she continued her active involvement with the Skyland Garden Club.
Pallbearers will be Jim Ledbetter, Jerry Smith, Jim Phillips, Jim Waltman, Will James, James Hammack, Tony Hammack and Daniel Jackson.
Honorary pallbearers are Lucy Amason, Carolyn Channell, Liz and Wiley McLeod, Archie Hitson, Joyce and Vernon Blackburn, Charlotte VanDyke, Dottie Smith, Murell Wilson, sorority sisters of Alpha Zeta Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha and ladies of her exercise class.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributing to the Calvary Baptist Church Lottie Moon Foreign Mission Offering, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105-1905), or Hospice of West Alabama.
