

Charles Henry “Chuck” Jensen, 61, of Hollister, passed away in his home surrounded by his family on Sunday, July 29, 2012 after a 2 ½ year battle with cancer.
Chuck was born July 27, 1951 in Twin Falls, Idaho to Glen and Gladys (Martin) Jensen. He grew up in Jerome, moved to Richfield in 1967 and graduated from Richfield High School in 1969. After studying for a year at Ricks College, he served a two year mission for the LDS church in Lima, Peru. Following his mission, he graduated from College of Southern Idaho. He married Jolene Grow on July 26, 1974 in the Idaho Falls Temple for time and all eternity. He spent most of his adult life farming on the Salmon Tract with Bill Loughmiller as Beta Western Inc. He spent the last few years working for Plant Foods Inc.
Chuck was a devoted and active member of the LDS church, and served in many positions including Bishop of the Hollister ward, and President of the Buhl Spanish Branch. He also served as an ordinance worker, with his wife, in the Twin Falls Temple.
Chuck enjoyed farming, both doing the work and seeing the fruits of his labors. Chuck and Jolene raised five children in Hollister. He instilled a strong work ethic in his children by his example. In his free time, he enjoyed collecting antique firearms, acting as tour guide on the Snake River to friends and family on his pontoon boat and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Jolene; his daughter, Jennifer (Dustyn) Brownlee of Twin Falls; his son, Adam (Kelly) Jensen of Rockland; his son, Andy (Rachel) Jensen of Rathdrum; and his daughter, Karalynn (Nick) Jensen of Boise; as well as his twelve grandchildren; his mother, Gladys (Gary) Hill of St George, Utah; his brother, Larry (Cindy) Jensen of St George, Utah; his sister, Cheryl (Mike) Adamson of Gilbert, Arizona; his sister, Yvonne (Rick) Owens of Lansdale, Pennsylvania; his brother, Eric Jensen of Richfield, and his sister, Kristi Jensen of Provo, Utah. He is preceded in death by his daughter Kimberlee and his father Glen.
The family would like to thank his employer, Bill Lewis, of Plant Foods Inc. and his co-workers for their generosity and kindnesses.
Funeral services for Chuck will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 3, 2012 at the Filer L.D.S. Stake Center, 841 W. Midway Street in Filer with Bishop Gary Rainsdon conducting. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. A viewing for family and friends will take place on Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at White Mortuary, Chapel by the Park, 136 4th Ave. East, Twin Falls as well as one hour prior to the services at the church.
Services are under the direction of Trent Stimpson and staff at White Mortuary, Chapel by the Park, Twin Falls.
