Daryl Dryden
Daryl Dryden, 89, of Twin Falls passed away Wednesday evening, November 13, 2013, at his home in Twin Falls.
Daryl was born March 10, 1924, in Deputy, Indiana, the son of Ruben and Regina Polk Dryden. He grew up and attended school in Deputy, and graduated from high school in 1942. Daryl married Patricia Ann Owens on October 18, 1944, in Edinburgh, Indiana. On October 21, Daryl left to serve in the Marines. Following his service, they raised three children, Sheila, Darren, and Kammie.
In 1961, Daryl and Patricia moved to Twin Falls, Idaho, to own and operate Fox Floral. Over the years, their hard work and success earned them the reputation of having the premier floral shop in the Magic Valley. They retired in 1985.
Following retirement Daryl enjoyed four-wheeling and snowmobiling in the Sawtooth wilderness, as well as hunting and fishing. Many would say the mountains were his home-away-from-home. He also spent time traveling, building new homes, cabins, and sharing in laughter with his family and friends.
Daryl is survived by his three children and son-in-law, Sheila Ann Wubker of Twin Falls; Darren Dryden of Twin Falls; and Kammie and Doug Hafer also of Twin Falls; as well as four grandchildren, Dianna Hatridge, Wes Wubker, Cody and Austin Hafer; four great grandchildren, Jeff Royalty, Whitney, Will, and Wiley Wubker; and his brother Don Dryden of Morton, Ilinois.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, and his sister, Shirley Moran.
A celebration of Daryl’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 22, 2013, at White Mortuary, 136 4th Ave. East, Twin Falls, with Pastor Paul Jordan officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Magic Valley Honor Guard and Idaho National Guard. Private family burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
Services are under the direction of Trent Stimpson and staff at White Mortuary, Chapel by the Park, Twin Falls.
