Halley Benon Cheney Spencer

Halley was born January 14, 1925, on the Mumford Cattle Ranch in Raymond, ID to Samuel Milton & Anna Maude Staley Cheney.

She grew up and attended school in Cokeville, WY and Gooding, ID and graduated from Gooding High School. She attended beauty college in Gooding and CSI in Twin Falls, ID. She worked as a beautician for several years and 25 years at Mt. Bell Telephone Co. in Gooding, Soda Springs and Twin Falls.

On September 9, 1957 she married James Spencer in Twin Falls, ID. They had 3 children, Paula, Michael and Jayne.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in various callings.

Halley is survived by son-in-law Dale Slater and grandchildren Michelle(Will) Reese, Nick (Kena) Slater, Amy (Steve) Bolton, Melanie (Stephen) Stumpf, Cameron (Holly) Robinson, Ashely Robinson, Crystal Rhoades and 26 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a still born sister, five brothers and her 3 children.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at 12 pm at White Mortuary “Chapel by the Park” with a viewing one hour prior at 11 am. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Park, Twin Falls, ID.
