
Hallie Carmen Carlson, 102 died Sunday, February 6, 2011 from natural causes at Lincoln County Care Center, Shoshone, Idaho. She had been a Housewife, mother and most of her life enjoyed playing the piano and reading the bible.
Hallie was born December 5, 1908 in Willow Township, Iowa the daughter of Lydia and Carl Sterner. She graduated from Kimberly High School in 1925. She attended Albion Normal School from 1926 until her graduation in 1928. She taught school from 1929 until 1930. After a few months of courtship, she married Marion Carlson on November 11, 1931 in Oregon City, Oregon. The family became three with the birth of a son Boyd Marion Carlson on August 8, 1932. At that time they lived on a ranch near Darlington, Idaho. Hallie and her family ended up in Twin Falls where she attended 1st Baptist Church. She taught some classes, played the piano and participated in church activities. She was very strong in the Christian faith and kept that faith in Jesus her entire life. One phrase she always used was “Trust in the Lord” until Alzheimer’s Disease rendered her into quietness.
She was preceded in death by her Husband; Marion L. Carlson and a brother Paul Sterner.
Hallie is survived by her son Boyd M. (Kathleen) Carlson of Las Vegas, Nevada, Her grandchildren; Gregg Carlson, Karen Fisher and Thomas Carlson. She also leaves her great grandchildren; Jessica Fisher, Kyle Fisher, Erik Carlson and Ty Carlson.
A graveside celebration of Hallie’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 10, 2011 at Sunset Memorial Park, Twin Falls.
