

Ilene Veva Mai, 94, passed away from natural causes on Saturday September 16th, 2017 at Bridgeview Estates in Twin Falls, Idaho. Ilene was born on December 12th, 1922 to Guy and Olivia Shover in Choteau, Oklahoma.
Ilene along with her twin sister Aileen, her brother Paul and her parents moved to Filer, Idaho at a young age. Her father was a farmer in the Filer area. One day while helping in the field she met the farmer next to their farm. The gentleman’s name was Victor Mai and became her husband until the time of his passing in 1975. They were married in December of 1942 and from this marriage were born three sons, Stan, Jerry and Randy. Ilene was a farm wife and Mother first. As the boys grew older she worked for the Pickett’s at the Frosty Treat Drive In in Filer.
She then returned to business school and worked for the Child Development Center and then at the Automotive Center at Sears for many years. As she grew older her focus changed to her grandchildren and her great grandchildren who she loved spending time with. Ilene was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church in Filer where she served on many committees and contributed countless hours of volunteer time.
Ilene was proceeded in death by husband, Victor her brother Paul and her twin sister Aileen. She is survived by her Sons, Stan (Pat) Mai, Jerry (Sherry) Mai and Randy (Melody) Mai. Grandchildren: Ryan, Travis, Allison, Justin and Aaron, plus 11 Great Grandchildren.
Graveside service will be 2:00 PM Friday September 22nd at the Filer Cemetery. Ilene’s wish was to be cremated. Friends and family are invited to place memory mementos in the Urn vault.
