

Jim was born November 24, 1927 in Greeley, Nebraska to Janis J and Deborah Fisher. As a young boy he moved with his family to Sandpoint and then down to Southern Idaho. At the age of 14 he moved to Ruby Valley, NV where he worked as a ranch hand until he joined the US Navy in Jan of 1946. When honorably discharged he moved to Tulley Lake, CA and became a Fish and Game Conservation Officer, where he met his wife of 61 years and love of his life, Nina J Smith.
They eventually moved to Magic Valley, Idaho where together they raised their four children. Jim began work farming the local area where he often helped fight local fires. Eventually he found his calling as a sheet metal worker until retirement.
Some of Jim’s favorite pastimes included fishing, hunting, and camping with his family or friends. After retirement he and his wife worked as camp hosts in the beautiful and rugged areas of Idaho that they loved so much.
Jim was known to be a stubborn but fair man. He devoted his life to his family and friends, and was always there if they ever needed him.
Jim is preceded in death by both his parents, two brothers; Jack and Melvin Fisher, and a son Wesley “Vic” Fisher.
Jim is survived by his wife, Nina, of Twin Falls; his children Carrie Watson of Indianapolis, Indiana, Robert (Debbie) Fisher of Twin Falls, Idaho, and Richard Fisher of Hailey, Idaho; Six grandchildren Sharea (Rob) Brehm of Indiana, Chana Watson of Indiana, Jason Fisher of Twin Falls, Westin (Sadie) Fisher of Twin Falls, Heather (Carl) Seaman of Mountain Home, Idaho, and Nicole Fisher of Hailey, Idaho; and four great-grandchildren.
A viewing for Jim will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday evening, August 27, 2010 at White Mortuary “Chapel by the Park”.
