Lynn Bowen Hansen was Born January 30, 1936 to Parley and Nedra Hansen in Central, Idaho and died October 4, 2017. He attended school and worked in Pocatello where he met his wife, Gerrie in 1958. They married that year and were later blessed with three children, Timothy, JoMarie and Whitney.
Lynn was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather providing a special role model to all. He enjoyed coaching little league baseball, helping out at swim meets, routing at soccer matches, attending piano recitals and gymnastic competitions. He was noted for his “made from scratch” pancakes and “fix it” ability.
Employed as maintenance mechanic at Paul Roberts Machine Shop and FMC, he was a hard worker and took pride in his efforts. After retirement Lynn and Gerrie moved to Twin Falls where they met new friends including a very special Bible study group. Placing the American flags each holiday for the Monarch Lions was a favorite activity.
He was very proud of his country and served in the Idaho Army National Guard. He had many happy times on fishing and hunting adventures and he looked forward to weekly pinochle games. Woodworking and making special gifts for his family and friends was a happy hobby. Lynn was very brave during his four years of fighting melanoma, never complaining. His sweet and gentle spirit will be missed.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, October 14, 2017 at First Baptist Church, 910 Shoshone St E. in Twin Falls. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of White Mortuary “Chapel by the Park.”
