Michael L Jansson, 67, went to play honky tonk with the Lord on December 23rd, 2017, from complications of surgery. Michael was born June 4, 1950 in Twin Falls, Idaho to Wilbur "Bill" Jansson and Geraldine Parrott.
Mike was an entrepreneur from an early age and never took a dollar he didn't earn. He was honest, hardworking, and believed there was good in all people. His word and a handshake were better than any contract. He was the patriarch of his family and was always the first the family called for advice or help. He was fortunate in his life and Big Mike, as many called him, had a tender heart that listened, if he knew one of his family or a friend needed or liked something, if he could provide it, he did, it was an endearing trait that surprised many.
Mike married Claire Elyse Bolton on April 2, 1971 and from this union Delaney Michelle and Dustin Michael was born. Having his children were his proudest moments and as they grew into adults he took pride in their achievements and successes. He started Mike Jansson Home Improvements in the mid 70's. Last year he felt he had worked hard enough that it was time to retire. Even in retirement he couldn't turn down those little jobs to help out a friend or previous customer.
Mike loved to go to garage sales to find the hidden treasures. If you were having a conversation and made mention you were looking for something you could pretty much guarantee he found it and probably found even two. Everything was always worth something and he couldn't turn down a bargain. His love of music always came out and you would usually hear the one by the Righteous Brothers "You never close your eyes anymore when I kiss your lips."
Mike is survived by his wife of 46 years, Claire, his daughter Delaney Jansson-Calbo (Jeff Lytle), his son Dustin (Chrissy) Jansson, his pride and joy grandchildren, Courtney (Kindra) Ehrmantraut, Jake (Sam Rapozo) Calbo, Sam Calbo, Benjamin Calbo, Casey Lytle, Rhett, Skylar, Juliane, and Aspen Jansson, and great granddaughter Chloe Ehrmantraut. He is also survived by his sister Connie Juchau and mother Geraldine Parrott. His brother, Ron (Sherrie) Bradley, Pam (Gary) McParland, Marcy Whitesel, Jeff Jansson and Cathy Jansson.
To follow the wishes of Miguel there will only be a Celebration of Life, which will be held at the Turf Club in Twin Falls, Idaho on December 29th from 6-10pm.
Please come join us to share the memory of Mike with your stories and love for such a larger than life personality that will be greatly missed.
Funeral arrangements under the direction of White Mortuary “Chapel by the Park.”
