He resided in Queen Creek, Ariz., and was employed by DRR LLC, a mining company. Richard was born in Twin Falls, Idaho, on Nov. 14, 1979, to Terry and KimBerly (Story) Miller. He began his school years after his family moved to Pleasant Grove, Utah. At Valley View Elementary, Richard began many lifelong friendships that would last through high school to present time. After graduating from Pleasant Grove High School, Richard fulfilled his childhood goal of serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to the Santiago Chile West Mission. He often referred to his mission as the best two years of his life. He loved the people of Chile and loved teaching the gospel.
Richard attended the University of Utah, graduating in chemistry and biology. Any free time that could be found, Richard and his dog, "Ebby," would be hunting, fishing or calling coyotes with his dad, Terry; grandfather, Kenneth; his two brothers, Trev and Matt; or any of his many buddies. Whatever sport he enjoyed, he did to perfection. The softer side of Richard was saved for his two sisters, Melissa and Michelle. No one could find more mischief, sneak out of the house or keep the best secrets than these three together.
Richard loved playing baseball and softball; this, too, he did to perfection. He played on three teams this last season in Arizona. Here he earned the nickname as "Meyers," gaining countless friends he loved and admired. On the home team or the opposing team, lifetime bonds were made. The last year and a half of his life, Richard was rarely found without Chelsi, the love of his dreams. Both of them brought out the very best there was in each other and were working on plans of a life ahead together. Richard will be greatly missed by many, especially Chelsi, his parents, grandparents, his brothers and sisters, and brothers-in law. He will also be missed by many aunts and uncles, cousins and countless friends made throughout his short life.
To all of us left behind, Richard would say, "The gospel is true; I love each of you dearly. Do not be sad at my passing, I am home, where I have longed to be."
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, preceded by a visitation at 10 a.m. at the LDS Octotillo Ward, 18850 E. Riggs Road, Queen Creek, Ariz. . Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 19, 2011 at Sunset Memorial Park, Twin Falls.
