Virginia Louise Groves

Virginia Louise Groves, 90, of Twin Falls passed away Sunday, January 15, 2017 at her home in Twin Falls surrounded by her loving family.

Virginia was born on July 15, 1926 in Red Cloud, Nebraska, the daughter of Cornelius and Nancy Anshutz Potter. She grew up and attended school in Lebanon, Kansas.

She married the love of her life, Richard P. (Bus) Groves on November 25, 1942 at Smith Center, Kansas. They farmed in Kansas and after Bus was discharged from the military, they moved to Idaho in 1948. Together they farmed for many years until retiring in 1984. Following retirement, they began their own lawn care business until Bus passed away in 2004. Virginia worked at White Mortuary for several years helping families with her wonderful smile and caring service.

Mom was a wonderful homemaker, raised six children and enjoyed time spent with family and friends.

Virginia is survived by her four children, Bill (Kathy) Groves; Charlene Anderson; and Mary Ann Groves of Twin Falls, Darrell (Nancy) Groves of Meridian, daughters-in-law, Jacki Groves French, Custer, SD., Julie Groves, Elko, NV., 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons, Steve and Bob, eight brothers and sisters and son-in-law, Dan Anderson.

Funeral services for Virginia will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 20, 2017 at White Mortuary, 136 4th Ave. East, Twin Falls with Pastor Jim Sommer officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. A viewing for family and friends will take place on Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at White Mortuary, Twin Falls.
