Betty Jean Sheppard, age 73, passed away on September 29,2026 in Chandler, Texas. She was born on July 26, 1953 in Yuba City, California to Riley and Rose Cantrell. Betty attended and graduated from Ceres High School. She served in the US Army. She married Howard Sheppard in 1974 and the couple has 1 child. She was a loan officer at USDA Farmers Home Administration where she worked for many years. In her spare time she enjoyed camping, fishing, gold mining in the foothills of California, painting and making porcelain dolls and jewelry.
Betty is preceded in death by her mother and father Riley and Rose Cantrell; sister, Claudia and her beloved husband Howard Sheppard.
She is survived by her daughter, Amberly Sheppard; son in law, Joaquin Ortiz; sister, Sharon Anderson; grandchildren, Violet Ortiz, Elliott Ortiz and Lincoln Ortiz.
