Billie Jo Wilkerson (Huggins)

Funeral services for Billie Wilkerson, 88, of Tyler are scheduled for 11:00 AM on Friday, January 9, 2026 at Pleasant Retreat Methodist Church with Rev. Ed Wandling officiating. A visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM prior to the service.

Mrs. Wilkerson passed away on December 25, 2025, in Chandler, Texas. Billie Wilkerson was born on January 26, 1937, in Monahans, Texas to Thomas Winfrey Huggins Sr. and Cora (Bryant) Huggins. A 1955 graduate of New Boston High School, she continued her education at Tyler Commercial College. Billie was a secretary at Tyler Pipe, Pleasant Retreat, and retired from Employers Casualty Company.

She was a devoted member of Pleasant Retreat Methodist Church where she actively participated in UMW and the Ruth Group. She was also an active participant and teacher in the Neoma Wilkerson Sunday School Class. She loved to greet her sweet friends and guests with a warm hug and a welcoming smile.

Billie gave her time to many events her children were involved in: PTA, Boy Scouts, and Girl Scouts. She especially loved going to sporting events for her kids and grandkids—baseball, football, basketball, golf and drill team.

Billie loved to shop, spend time with family, read, and going to Galveston with her “Sea Gals”. She loved Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune. She loved all things glittery and leopard print. If you ever had her chocolate pie, it was a life changing experience. Billie was a devoted Mama and Lollie, who supported her family in all things.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband; Robert L Wilkerson; her siblings, ZL Huggins, Tom Huggins, and Mary Jane Huggins. Survivors include her children, Rob Wilkerson of Round Rock and Jill Seale and husband Cody of Chandler; her grandchildren, Joshua and Caleb Seale; her sister-in-law, Louise Wilkerson; and numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of amazing friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant Retreat Methodist Church, 417 CR 1143, Tyler, TX 75704.
