

Buster Ray George, age 66 of Quinlan went home to the Lord on June 10, 2013 after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.
Buster was born on November 21, 1946 to Sam Vernon and Jessie Alene George in James Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by Jose Davis George and Claudette Hecox George. Left to pay tribute to his life are his children Gordon R. ,Sr. and his wife Tammy George (Larue, Tx.), Judy L. Corley (Wylie, Tx.), Curtis R. George (Larue, Tx.), Gregory A. and his wife Christina George (Anchorage, Ak.), and Michael W. George (Wylie, Tx.); six grandchildren, Amanda, Adam, Gordon Jr., Chase and his wife Lauren, Sara and Patrick.
He is also survived by his four brothers Rufus, Sam, John and Ivan and three sisters Mary Crowell, Sally Amburn and Dolly Lindsey.
Buster was a hard worker who loved his family and served his country proudly. His favorite pastime was fishing and then sharing his catch with family and friends. He was employed by Brookshire's for 16 years and then by WRL Construction until he retired in 2006.
Viewing will be held at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home 12053 State Hwy. 64 West in Tyler on Friday June 14th from 6pm - 8pm. Funeral service will be held at Central Baptist Church 1343 E. Grande Blvd. Tyler on Saturday June 15th at 2 pm. Buster's nephews Rufus George Jr., Roger George, Randy George, Mark Crowell, Kevin Stevens and Scotty Stevens will serve as Pall Bearers. Buster will be laid to rest at Tyler Memorial Cemetery.
