Services for Charles Edward Downing will be 1:30PM Wednesday at Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery with Bro. James Cheatham officiating with Tyler Memorial Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Downing was born on August 31, 1924 in Mill Grove, MO to Gail and Irene McReynolds Downing and passed away October 14, 2012 in Tyler He retired from General Motors in Arlington after 43 years , he served in the U S Army during WWII and was a shriner. Mr. Downing is survived by a daughter: Connie Troxell & Husband Ron of Tyler, Son: Johnnie Gail Downing & Wife Mercedes of Midlothian, Grandchildren: Tammy Meraz & Husband Carlos of Bullard, Johnnie Downing of Midlothian, Jimmy Downing of Arlington & Tommy Loggins, 7 Greatgrandchildren & 1 Greatgreatgranddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 Sons: James & Edward Downing. A Family gathering will be at the daughter’s home 18659 CR 1293 Tyler, Tx after the graveside.
