Dr Dennis K Shafer

Dr. Dennis K. Shafer, 59, passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2012 in Tyler, TX. He was born on September 12, 1952 in Oskaloosa, IA to the late Elmer and Joyce Shafer. Dr. Shafer was a children’s minister and a loving husband and father.

Dr. Shafer is survived by his wife, Margie Shafer of Chandler, TX; Son, Jeremiah & Ashley Shafer of Plano, TX; Daughters, Holly & Dale Schippers of Bussey, IA and their children Larissa and Corbin; Hobby Hunter of Chandler, TX and her children Hannah and Jacob; Brother, Doug Shafer of Tracy, IA; Stepmother, Bertha Jane Shafer of Knoxville, IA; Stepbrothers, Steve Shafer of Knoxville, IA; Scott Shafer of Silver Plume, CO; Stepsister, Jane Senf of Burlington, IA. He is preceded in death by his parents and Granddaughter Caitlin Grace Schippers.

Services for Dr. Dennis Shafer will be held at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. with burial to follow at Tyler Memorial Park. There will be a time of visitation prior to the service.
