Donald Ray McPherson
November 13, 2015
I was deeply saddened upon learning of Senior Chief McPherson's death on the CT website this morning. When I reported for duty at my very first station (Morocco) as a 19-year-old seaman in 1961, he was my very first supervisor in the Navy. He was a true leader and I, along with the other sailors in his section, looked up to him as a great leader and consummate professional. By his every action, he served as an outstanding personal example for us young sailors to follow. I went on to spend 24 years in the Navy. I have always credited him with getting me started off on the right path to a successful and rewarding career.
With great respect and admiration for someone I will never forget
