Dorothy was a beloved housewife, mother and friend to many. She loved the color blue and the beauty in birds. During World War ll, Dorothy went on a blind date with John Lloyd Lowdermilk, which led to their marriage on Wednesday, July 4, 1945. While their children were growing up, church was a big part of their lives. Sadly, John passed away in 1971. She then remarried in 1978 to Everett Rufus Johnson. Dorothy lived a long, fulfilled life that she loved.
Dorothy is survived by her children Marla Spencer, Margaret (Joe) Rouvaldt, Tim Lowdermilk and Sally York; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents Samuel Claude Hart and Annie Ethel Sain Hart; son John Lowdermilk Jr; brother Bill Hart, Claude Hart, and Bobby Hart; and sister Peggy Boone.
A time of visitation for Dorothy will be held Friday, May 22, 2020 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home. A celebration of Dorothy's life will occur Saturday, May 23, 2020 at 1 p.m., following the graveside service at 2:00 p.m. at Tyler Memorial Cemetery, 12053 State Highway 64 W, Tyler, Texas 75704.
